About Me

Here you will find out a little bit more about me and my life

Hi.
I'm Laird Garry Pearson, a crofter living in the Highland region of Scotland. I am a true Scottish Laird owning Lairdships in Lochaber, Glencairn and John O'Groats.
In Scotland, a Laird is an owner of a landed estate, or more simply a 'landowner'. The title of Laird is hereditary and may carry certain local or feudal rights, though unlike a Lordship, a Lairdship has never carried voting rights, either in the historic Parliament of Scotland, or in the present day House of Lords.
Though traditionally translated as "Lord", it is not a direct equivalent of Lord, as Laird is not a title of nobility. Unlike Lord of the Manor titles, land and title can not be separated. In more recent times some female Lairds have opted to use Lady instead

In various parts of this site you will discover more about people in my life, my friends, my homeland, my work as a crofter and much more.

I have included some pictures for you to browse through and also some Scottish Gaelic phrases and words. All I ask is that you please observe the copyright on everything on this site. Thank you
